Funeral Mass for Robert J. Dvorak, Sr., 88, of Wagner, will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 24, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Wagner. Burial is in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Wagner, with military honors. Visitation is Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Peters Funeral Home in Wagner. Dale Douglas Larson, 79, of Geddes, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021 at his home. Funeral Mass was Tuesday, November 23 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Geddes. A Committal Service followed at St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dale’s honor may be directed to the Geddes Cemetery. Local news

The following area friends went on the WNAX bus trip to the November "Branson at Christmas." From Avon: Beth Namminga, Georgia Talsma, Gary Odens, Cleo Reiff and Reta Ridgway. From Springfield: Ethel Cooper, Cathy Coleman, Becky Fryda, Judy Ludens, Gary Romkema, John and Mary Hoaglin, Bill and Kristi Chenoweth and Bill and Kari Odens. From Tyndall: Alice Kozak and Gary and DeAnna Fritz. From Parkston: Richard and Elaine Jones. From Yankton: Alice and Lois Solberg. They enjoyed the many Christmas shows and sites around Branson. The absolute blessing for everyone was seeing 'Jesus" at the Sight and Sound Theater. It told the powerful story of the plan of salvation. They also enjoyed and were profound of their local "Star" Cleo Reiff, who was escorted to the stage and interviewed at the Comedy Jamboree Show. It was enjoyed by all.

Letter to the editor

The original plan was to apply for a 2.5 million dollar grant (tax payer money) to build a trail from Platte to Ravinia, about 30 miles. This plan was not approved by the state railroad board at two different meetings. Rails to Trails needs state approval to apply for a grant.
