LifeServe Blood Center, the SOLE supplier of blood to Avera – Wagner Community Memorial Hospital, is asking community members to give blood to help patients this summer. Travel, outdoor fun, boating, and fireworks can all lead to an increase in traumas in local emergency rooms. Many of these patients will require blood transfusions as part of their treatment or recovery. Stampede Ready!

There have been a lot of changes in the 31 years of the Burke Stampede, but 2021 may mark one of the biggest. It will be the first year that the Stampede rides into the world of Professional Rodeo. The planning and preparation have been immense and spanned almost two years. It is unbelievable to think that what started as a place for our kids to play might become the playing field of world champion and aspiring world champion cowboys and cowgirls.

Charles Mix County and Bon Homme County 4-H’ers gathered for a joint horse show Wednesday, June 30th at the 7-N Arena west of Springfield. All those participating are now qualified to participate at the South Dakota State Horse Show in Huron July 19-21 in Huron.

WHERE IS YOUR MILITARY DISCHARGE?

Before any veteran or family member can obtain any benefits or services from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), he or she must produce a copy of their discharge or DD-214. For National Guard soldiers the discharge form is an NGB 22. In many cases a certified copy of the original document is required.
