It is inevitable. Sooner or later, I will report that I have bitten off more than I can chew. I came dangerously close on a Wyoming elk hunt back in 2017 when I struggled to climb the Absaroka foothills south of Cody. A borderline miracle shot saved me. Though four years older, I’ll try the same thing again in November. This time I’ll be seventy pounds lighter, and hopefully, that will make a difference.

Read moreThe Wagner Fire Department received a call at 2:15 p.m. to respond to a wildfire just north of Pickstown, which was rapidly moving north towards St. Francis Bay. Wagner responded along with multiple other fire departments from Lake Andes, Ravinia, Geddes, LakeView Colony, Pickstown, Dante and Armour. Multiple other agencies and personnel assisted with traffic control, evacuations and water shuttles.
