ANNUAL RIVER SERVICE

Friedensberg Bible Church south of Avon will have their annual river service at Walter's Landing on the Missouri River on Sunday, August 15th at 10:30 a.m., with Harry and Linda Walter's hosting. The worship service will be followed by a baptism, with a potluck meal to follow. All are welcome. There will be no Sunday School or services at the church building this Sunday only. INTERACTIVE MOVIE NIGHT AT THE AVON PARK

The Avon Public Library ended their Summer Reading Program, Tails and Tales, with an interactive movie night on Monday, August 2. Participants met in the park and were given props and scripts to interact with the movie, Finding Nemo. About 65 children and adults were in attendance. Snacks and drinks were also given out. There was a lot of feedback on this being an enjoyable time, and Mayor Petrik inquired about doing this again with another movie in the winter possibly in the fire hall.
