Wagner’s VFW Post 7319 teeners traveled to Winner to participate in their annual tournament. Wagner would come up on the short end of a 9-4 score against Gregory in their first game. Dominic Doom, Kingston Brunelle, Brannon Bruguier, Avery Medicine Bear, and Steven Peters all toed the rubber in this one. Combined they would give up seven hits, twelve walks, and one hit batsman.
Read moreThe 4th Annual 605 Unity Jam was held Sunday at Wagner Lake. The event is a A Multi-Cultural Jamboree of Art & Music. The purpose of the event is to increase cultural awareness, understanding, acceptance and appreciation of all cultures. They had live music featuring many bands including local artist Kara Hanan. The event had many activities for various ages including a Youth Pow Wow, Teen Spike Ball Tournament, Cardboard Box Boat Regatta, Czech Kolache Eating Contest, Youth Fishing Clinic and Fishing Derby, Adult and Teen Cornhole Tournaments and Traditional Native and Czech Dancing demonstrations. Read moreKevin Andersh has decided to retire from the Wagner Community School District after 41 years. Andersh began driving school bus for WCS in the fall of 1983. He first started working for WCS when he and his wife had moved back to Wagner and he was in need of a job. Driving bus for the school was the perfect fit for Kevin because it allowed him an outside income while still being able to farm.

Read moreOn Monday, June 3, Wagner VFW Post 7319’s 14U and 16U Teener teams opened their seasons by hosting Wessington Springs. Both teams came away with wins. The 14U squad earned an 8-1 win while the 16U team triumphed by a 15-1 count.
Read moreOn Wednesday, June 5, Wagner’s VFW Post 7319 14U teeners traveled to White Lake to take on Kimball-White Lake. Wagner had baserunners galore in this one as we used 15 hits, 16 walks, and one hit batsman to score 25 runs enroute to a 25-5 victory.
Read moreOn Thursday, June 6, Wagner’s VFW Post 7319 teeners played host to Tyndall. The 14U squad continued to hit the ball well as they came out on the good side of an 11-8 score. Steven Peters started on the mound for Wagner and went 2.1 innings giving up six earned runs on four hits and five walks. Colton Zephier then came on to finish the shortened game (due to time constraints) and earn the win as he allowed two unearned runs on three hits while walking one and striking out one.
