Emersyn Haenfler walked and then Harper Kracht, Brielle Voigt and Kensley DeVries all followed with singles. Raegan Brandtreachedonanerrorand eventuallyscoredthefifthrun. In the 3rd inning, Lydia Lane walked, advanced to second on a groundout, and scored on a single by Leah DeWald. Brielle followed with a single scoring Leah. Kensley then singled to score Brielle. In the fifth inning, four consecutive singlesbyLeah,Harper,Brielle and Kensley resulted in 3 additional runs. Kensley picked up the win on the mound, going the distance striking out 4 and only giving up one run. The final score was 11-1 in favor of the Elite.

Read moreOn Wednesday, June 26, the Post 7319 teeners traveled to Salem to take on the Cubs. As usual, the evening would start with the 14U game. Salem had one more hit than Wagner, but they would end up with 14 more runs as they would win by a score of 14-0 as they used 11 walks and 10 errors to come away with the victory. Ethan Gabel was the pitcher of record. He gave a valiant effort but would give up six runs, only one being earned, on zero hits and four walks. Avery Medicine Bear, Colton Zephier, and Landon Ronfeldt all pitched in this contest. It stands to reason that in a game where your defense commits ten errors that many runs will be unearned and that was the case here, as all of the runs given up by those three pitchers were unearned. Beau Otte and Steven Peters collected two hits each and that was all the offense Wagner could muster.

Hayden Christopherson of Vermillion proved to be too much for Wagner’s bats as he would pitch the complete game shutout, winning by a score of 7-0. Hunter Loeffler, Matt Link, and Carter Cournoyer each had one hit for Wagner.
