President Rachel Woods welcomed all present to the Wagner Rotary Meeting on September 28th. There were no guests present other than the program attendees. Rotarian/Pastor Bill Heermann gave thanks for the beautiful fall weather we were experiencing and asked for a blessing on us all.

One of the projects for the Wagner American Legion Auxiliary is to purchase dictionaries for third grade students in the Wagner Community School and Marty Indian School.
Read moreThe tuckpointing of the Carnegie Public Library is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Sept 28th. The front door and front steps will also be replaced at this time. These repairs will allow the use of the building as a Museum to continue for years to come. A portion of the cost of these repairs is paid for with a grant from the South Dakota Historical Society and the remainder from donations from concerned citizens and the City of Lake Andes. The South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs (SDDVA) along with the Charles Mix County Veterans Service Office hosted the first “Veterans, See What’s Brewing” event on September 21, 2022 at the Wagner American Legion. The Department took the opportunity to visit with veterans in Charles Mix, Douglas and Gregory counties.

I love sports. I have enjoyed playing and watching sports for as long as I can remember. And as someone who participated in a sport year-round in high school and continued in athletics (golf) in college, I am constantly grateful for the large impact being able to play competitive sports has had in my life.
