Read morePvt. Nolan J. Carda was among those graduating from basic combat training with Delta Battery, 1st Battalion, 40th Field Artillery at Fort Sill, Oklahoma Friday, April 14. During the ceremony, Carda was presented the Iron Soldier Award. The high physical training award is awarded to the Soldier(s) that achieves the highest score on the Army Combat Fitness Test during Basic Combat Training. Carda scored 592/600. Carda is the son of Gina Carda, Wagner, and Mike Carda, Lake Andes. Grandparents are Doug and Mitsy Woods, Wagner, Jan and Butch Martin, Wagner, and Mary Carda, Lake Andes. Norman Woods, Lake Andes, is great-grandfather.

Read moreAll eyes will be on Wagner for the upcoming special event known as the “605 Unity JAM that is set for Sunday, June 11 at the Wagner Lake Park in Wagner. This event is in it’s third year of development and information about the event will be listed in the “South Dakota Magazine” during the May/June addition. The magazine has over 165,000 magazine subscribers who will possibly see the name of Wagner for the first time. The magazine has subscribers all over the United States, Canada and Europe. It has been stated that 3-4 additional people also read this magazine, in addition to the subscriber and this will in turn eventually reach about 500,000 people world wide. It has been stated that people often plan their vacations trip to include places to see and things to do in South Dakota. We will want people to be glad they stopped!

She had dresses come in from Sioux Falls, Rapid City and Lennox and other area towns. Lucy states 'This community is so generous and our mission was to make sure every young lady felt special and beautiful for prom and I think we accomplished it for the 25 plus young ladies that came to shop. Wagner and South Dakota have some of the most salt of the earth people that will come together and help each other out and that is what I love about our community.' Over 25 girls from the surrounding area have taken advantage of the dresses and accessories. If you are still in need of a dress or any other accessories please stop in and take advantage her selection, she is open 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday.
