I was sitting in my beach chair on vacation soaking up the sun when I overheard the couple next to me sounding concerned. They were throwing out lots of big medical terms but were very confused and said that they did not understand anything that they read on this MRI report. I turned to them, apologized for eavesdropping, and introduced myself as a physician. I offered to “translate” what the radiologist report said, and they gladly accepted.

TEENERS OFF TO A GOOD START

Avon Teeners picked up their 1st victory of the season beating Gayville 15 to 7 in Avon on Monday May 31st. Tyler Tjeerdsma went the distance on the hill, pitching seven innings and striking out five. Leading hitters were Landon Mudder with a single and a double, Tyler T. with two singles, Devon Rucktaeschel with a single, Trevor Eggers with a double, Gunnar Voigt with a single, Aziah Meyer with a double and a single, and Jaydon Driesen with a double.

Library news

“Tails and Tales” is the 2021 Children’s Library Summer Program that can be found in libraries across the United States this summer. The programming began at the Lake Andes Public on Monday, June 7th at 1:00. Programming runs in 3 sections each day, first session beginning at 1:00 , 2nd session at 2:00 and the 3rd session at 3:00. Section 1 is geared towards K-2nd grade, Section 2 is geared towards 3-4th grade, and the 3rd section is geared towards 5 grade up.
