“Doc, what’s this scaly rash on my arm? Do I have ringworm again?” A lot of the rashes I see in my dermatology clinic are red and scaly. In fact, what first drew me to dermatology as a profession was watching a dermatologist distinguish between seemingly similar red, scaly rashes all day. Dennis L. Krcil of Grimes, IA 72, passed away at home on Sunday, July 18, 2021. Dennis was born March 20, 1949 in Tyndall to Henry and Sylvia (Carda) Krcil. He grew up farming in Dante. He graduated from Avon High School in 1967 and attended Southern State College in Springfield where he attained his Associate’s Degree. He moved to Des Moines, IA in the fall of 1969 and was united in marriage to Carmen Carpenter in 1970. They had two sons Jason and Shaun.

Funeral services were Friday, July 23, at the Avon High School Gymnasium in Avon. The family requested friends to wear any sports apparel or team colors of Zach’s or your favorite sports team. In lieu of flowers, memorials was directed to the American Heart Association or to a memorial to be determined at a later date. Peters Funeral Chapel in Avon was in charge of arrangements.
