Fall is quickly approaching and with it comes Wagner’s most impressive mobilization of community, the annual Wagner Labor Day celebration. This marks the fifth year that Boys & Girls Club has teamed up with the Labor Day Committee to create a Labor Day Queen Event. We know that culture and leadership greatly influence a community’s environment and the future success of our young people. To this end, we have created a few traditions around the Labor Day Queen experience for young women.
Read moreRed Raider Cheer gets underway with their competitions on Saturday, August 31st at Gregory at 11 a.m. This year’s cheer team is led by coaches, Michaela Ziegler and Ciera Hansen. This is Coach Ziegler’s third year and Coach Hansen’s eleventh year coaching.

Their next regular season game will be played on August 30th at 7 p.m. in Winner with the following week of September 6th being the Raider’s first home game against Hot Springs.

Read moreLung cancer is the second most common cancer (not counting skin cancer) in both men and women, only behind prostate in men and breast in women. Although it is the second most common, it remains the leading cause of cancer death in America. Approximately 1 in 5 cancer deaths a year are attributed to lung cancer. More Americans die every year of Lung cancer than colon, prostate and breast cancer combined. Lung cancer is considered a silent killer and is often diagnosed at a late stage, when treatment options are limited and survival rates are low. The greatest advancement in the care of lung cancer occurred in the early 2000s after the national lung cancer screening trial, which cemented the knowledge that early detection of lung cancer with low dose CT scans saves lives. Early detection through screening is crucial in improving outcomes for individuals at high risk of developing lung cancer.
