AC/DC CROSS COUNTRY

The Andes Central/Dakota Christian Cross Country team began their practices last Thursday, August 12. “We have a lot of challenges in front of us this year," noted Coach Larry Lucas. "We will be competing in Class A this season which will give us different competition at the Region and State Meets, COVID is still at a pandemic level in parts of the United States, and it has been a hot summer that presents challenges for long distance runs. However, our runners have strong character traits and they will be up to whatever obstacle they may encounter in competing in the sport of cross country.”

SPORTSMEN AGAINST HUNGER NEARS GAME DONATION MILESTONE

Established in 1993, South Dakota Sportsmen Against Hunger (SDSAH), in cooperation with Feeding South Dakota (FSD) and the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks (SDSGFP), has continued to provide a means for hunters to provide nutritious game meat to families in need. The result has been donation of 986,150 pounds of game meat since SDSAH inception, or near the milestone of 1,000,000 pounds.

BON HOMME GOLF COURSE JULY TOURNAMENT RESULTS

Several golf tournaments took place in July at the Bon Homme Golf Course. The format for all of these tournaments was a two person scramble. Championship Flight Winners were as follows: Kortan Sanitation Tourney-Marshall Cihak & Jay Kriz, Women's Tourney-Michelle Olson & Raja Brandt, Ag Classic-Dan Fathke & Travis Stockholmn, Senior Tourney-Rocky Brinkman & Glen Schneider.
