She was 19 years old, just starting her first semester of college. She had been transferred to our level 1 trauma center, intubated and in a medically induced coma. I was a third-year medical student, being introduced to the realities of medicine. Our team was clustered around her in the procedure room adjacent to the ICU while my senior resident inserted the central line we would use to quickly administer large volumes of medicine and fluids.

Alice J. Kafka recently celebrated her 90th birthday...Dante style! She is the oldest resident in town, and friends and family came out to share this special occasion with her. There was a small parade, treats, signs, balloons, and a lot of fun! We appreciate everyone for coming out!

The Wagner Rotary Club convened Wednesday September 8, with one special guest in attendance. William Woods accompanied his mother to the meeting. William went around to each table and fist bumped and shook hands to the delight of all the members.

Funeral services for Gary Anderson, 79, of Wagner are 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 17 at the Untied Methodist Church in Wagner. Burial is in the Rosehill Cemetery in Parker. Visitation is Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.
