GRADUATES PURCHASE LOCAL BUSINESS

Jill (Bertus) and Devin Tolsma both grew up in Avon and are now alumni of Avon High School. Devin graduated in 2015 and continued his education at Mitchell Technical College. Jill graduated two years later in 2017 and also went to Mitchell Technical College. After their two years at college, they took into consideration how they could utilize their degrees in or around Avon. They both knew they wanted to stay in Avon because they grew up here, and all their family lives here. “Avon has always been home and always will be,” Jill said.

Trenton Soukup is the 14-yearold son of Troy and Shirely Soukup. His siblings are Cody and Ashley Soukup. He raises cows and has two dogs. Although he worked this summer, his favorite pastime is to hunt.

Mason Johnson is the son of Mark and Samantha Johnson. He is a six year old in Mrs. Dawn Kocmich’s kindergarten class. Johnson has five siblings: Ava, Sydney, Evelyn, Lillian, and his twin brother Gabe. He also has two dogs named Bailey and Lucy.

ZION YOUTH GROUP HOLDS VENDOR FAIR

The Zion Lutheran Youth Group held their annual Vendor Fair this past Sunday Dec. 5th. Above are some of the vendors. Lisa Talsma also took pictures at the event. The Youth Group would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for their support. They are grateful for the wonderful turnout.
