The Library Board met in early December and have decided the library will offer a flag deposit service. If you have a U.S. flag which has become unusable you may bring it to the library and we will insure it is disposed of correctly.

Read more2022 is here and that means a new legislative session is upon us! I am Representative Caleb Finck, I live and farm near Tripp, and I will be again writing a weekly column to keep you up to date on important legislative items. Our first week of the new session will be filled with information gathering and speeches. On Tuesday, January 11th we will hear the State of the State address from Governor Noem. Wednesday, January 12th, we will listen in on the State of the Judiciary delivered by the Chief Justice. Finally, Thursday, January 13th we will hear the State of the Tribes Address from one of our Tribal Chairmen.

Read moreOnce upon a time many backyards, both town and country, held a dog house. During this time, my 1st grade reader featured Dick and Jane who lived on Pleasant Street with their mom, dad, Spot, and Puff. Spot was a dog who lived in the afore-mentioned dog house, and Puff was the family cat. There was zero inflation, typical families had one vehicle, homes had one bathroom, and single-parent families were nonexistent to my knowledge. Moms were stay-at-home moms, and dads walked in the back door sometime around 6:00 P.M. from their day’s work at the office or factory.
