Funeral services for Carol Lavonne Huddleson Irwin, 87, of Corsica, were held Thursday, September 14 at The Lighthouse Church in Wagner. Peters Funeral Home of Wagner was in charge of arrangements. Carol was born July 19, 1936 in Armour, the daughter of Robert and Maude (Allen) Huddleson. She left this life on September 9, 2023 surrounded by her family in her home in Corsica.

Rotary News

Wednesday, September 20th found the Rotary Club members back at their usual meeting place after their exciting meeting last week with the “Australian Mob” and our Social Meeting at the Choteau Creek Brewery. A warm welcome was given by President Becky Brunsing and Kathe and Jerry Henke introduced their two guests. Dr. Stuart Todd and his wife Kathy were visiting the Henke’s from their home state of North Carolina. The Todds and the Henkes were good friends for many years in NC and were visiting South Dakota. Dr. Stuart is retired from his occupation as a Surgeon and he and his wife are enjoying traveling around the country.

Greer Post #11 American Legion

American Legion Greer Post #11 held its monthly meeting on September 21, 2023 with 29 members in attendance. Commander Clayton Rados then thanked the cooks for the delicious meal. Chaplain Don Kotab gave the invocation which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion was recited by all members. Commander Rados then called the meeting to order.

ST JOHN’S CATHOLIC CHURCH BAZAAR

On Sunday, September 24, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church held their annual bazaar. Members of the Bazaar Committee who oversaw the organizing and carrying out of the event were Jamie Kuhlman, Jessica Kuhlman, Traci Payer and Jenni Soukup. They served 300 people pork loin, mashed potatoes, gravy and dressing, Parishioners donated pies, kolaches, rohliky and other various desserts. This annual fundraiser has been going on for at least the last 50 years. Money raised goes to various community outreach and ministry such as the CCD/Catechism program, food pantry, donations, etc. After the dinner, there was BINGO held at the CCD center and outside games with prizes for the kids. It was a great success and a wonderful night of fellowship and fun.
