One of this week’s featured WCS seniors is Devin Rouse. Devin is the son of Stephanie Chasing Hawk. Devin’s advice for underclassmen is to enjoy your time at Wagner Community School. His best memory from his time at WCS is shooting hoops with his friends. Devin’s biggest pet peeve is when people talk during movies.

These competitions challenge FFA members to a real-life, hands-on test of skills that can help prepare them for the over 200 available careers in agriculture. Wagner Community School had two FFA members qualify for the State CDE Competition. The FFA students competed in Scotland on Thursday, April 4th and Carter Smejkal and Casey Van Duysen both qualified for the State CDE Competition that will be held in Brookings on April 18-20.

Wagner Area Growth is sponsoring “Wagner Craft Crawl and More” on Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. A craft crawl is similar to a citywide rummage sale but features crafts, food, and other items. Vendors set up in garages, in yards, on porches, in pop-up shops inside various retail businesses, or wherever works. Customers travel to whichever locations interest them.
Read moreNational Administrative Professionals Day is celebrated annually on the Wednesday of the last full week of April. This year this celebratory day is Wednesday, April 24th. Administrative Professionals’ Day recognizes the work of secretaries, administrative assistants, executive assistants, personal assistants, receptionists, client services representatives, and other administrative support professionals. Administrative Professionals Day began as National Secretaries Week which was first observed June 1st -7th, 1952, with June 4th being National Secretaries Day. The name was officially changed to Administrative Professionals Day in 2000 to encompass the expanding responsibilities and wide range of job titles of administrative staff. There are too many wonderful people to feature for this day, so this year’s focus is on the administrative professionals that work tirelessly to ensure that the school days run smoothly for both the students and staff at Wagner Community School. These individuals are the backbone of the school and go above and beyond their required job duties. Wagner Community School has seven amazing chaos coordinators also known as administrative professionals including Nancy Cuka, Jessa McCarthy, Rosie Koupal, Keisha Bruguier, Stacy Greger, Mary Koupal and Kathy Cournoyer.
