On the late afternoon – early evening of August 31st, I thrilled to the greatest fishing experience of my lifetime. With the Wagner Labor Day celebration as the backdrop of the weekend, 59 cars signed in on Friday night with VonEschen Lawn and Landscape and Wagner Building and Supply presenting the action, and 61 joined the fray Monday for Season Championships, presented by R&R Excavating and the South Dakota Lottery. With titles on the line, both nights featured the Manthey Farms Sport Compacts, the Roth Custom Farming Hobby Stocks, the Ponca Valley Seed Sport Mods, the Butte Implement B-Mods and the C & B Operations of Wagner Late Models.

Wagner High School is having homecoming the week of September 14th to 18th. The theme for Homecoming this year will be “The Good Ole Days.” The candidates for king and queen this year are: Abby Brunsing and Simon Freier, Michelle Soukup and Jaden Peters, and Faith Podzimek and Derek Drews. Coronation will be held following the volleyball game Tuesday night in the Auxiliary Gym.
