These decisions must be left up to the wildlife biologists. The general public is not well enough informed to make these decisions. Unfortunately, there are times when even these so called experts in the field seem to stray from common sense, although politics seems to somehow get involved.

Wagner had trouble scoring points all night and could not keep pace with the Black Panthers. Nolan Carda led the team with 9 points and he also grabbed 5 rebounds. Jayden Aungie hit two 3 pointers late in the game to finish with 6, Toby Zephier scored 3 and Jaden Peters 2.
Read moreThe Red Raiders traveled to Burke on Thursday night to play the Burke Cougars. Wagner fell behind early but battled back in the second quarter to make the half time score 15-23. Wagner and Burke traded baskets most of the second half, the game remained fairly close but the Red Raiders could never take the lead and ended up falling 43-58. Dustin Honomichl scored 20 points for Wagner, Nolan Carda scored 8 points and had 11 rebounds. Toby Zephier added 5 points, Greg St. Pierre 4, Chris Nelson, Jaden Peters and Simon Freier all scored 2 points each.
Read moreThe Red Raiders boys faced their toughest test of the year so far on Tuesday night hosting a very good Vermillion team. The boys hung with the Tanagers through the first quarter trailing 10-12 and kept the game within 10 points until half time trailing 15-25. Vermillion extended their lead throughout the second half and ended up winning the game 62-26. Simon Freier and Nolan Carda led he Red Raiders with 6 points each. Nolan Carda also grabbed 7 rebounds and Simon Freier had 3 steals. Toby Zephier added 5 points, Chris Nelson 4, Camden Roth 3 and Dustin Honomichl 2.
Read moreWagner Hosted Platte-Geddes on Parents Night The Platte-Geddes Black Panthers traveled to town last Friday night to take on the Red Raiders in girls basketball action. Wagner would hold a slim lead after the first quarter 14-11. They would then out score the Panthers 41-12 the rest of the game to win 55-23. Macy Koupal would lead all scorers with 15 points, 11 boards, 5 assists, and 2 steals. Deisha Medicine Horn would add 12 points and 5 boards. Kayli Kocer would be the 3rd Red Raider in double figures with 10 points, 3 boards, and 3 steals. Eve Zephier would add 7 points, dish out 4 assists, and grab 3 boards. Jayla Bruguier would add 6 points off the bench and come away with 2 steals. Lizzie Tyler would add 3 points, grab 6 boards, and come away with 3 steals. Maesa Dvorak would round out the scoring with 2 points while also grabbing 4 rebounds. The Red Raiders were 19-52 for 37% while the Panthers were 8-43 for 19%. Wagner was 12-18 from the line while the Panthers were 5-13. Wagner owned the glass 37-28 and only turned the ball over 11 times compared to 19. “This was a good way to end our last home regular season game. We rebounded well, got out in transition and were able to hit open perimeter shots. To our seniors, Kayli, Maesa, Deisha, and Dani, thank you for your dedication and commitment not only to our team, but in the classroom and community. You truly are great role-models for our younger kids in school.”
