Christine Marie (Medicine Horn) Selwyn, 79, of Lake Andes died Sunday, June 14, 2024 at the Sanford Health Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services were Thursday, July 18 at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Burial was in the St. Phillips Episcopal Cemetery. Peters Funeral Home of Wagner was in charge of arrangements.
Read moreAshlyn Koupal attended the Class A State Track and Field Meet on May 23rd through 25th in Sioux Falls at the Howard Wood Field. This was her fourth time attending the state track meet to compete in the high jump event. At the Class A State Track and Field Meet, Ashlyn claimed her fourth straight high jump title. Ashlyn is the daughter of Mike and Tera Koupal. She is the granddaughter of Dwayne and Rosie Koupal; Max and Sandy Ellefson; Duane and Bonnie Wince; and Lynette Ellefson. Ashlyn is currently a junior at Wagner Community School.

Jahvana has been making jewelry for about a year now. When asked who got her into making jewelry, she said her mom and Grandma Brenda DeHaan first started making jewelry together. She likes to make her jewelry with leather, colorful glass beads, shells and other natural materials. Her current line has bracelets, necklaces and earrings.

Brennan will be attending Mitchell Technical Institute this fall where he will study heating and cooling. Brennan first applied for this scholarship because he knew that if he was awarded it, that he would be able to focus and feel secure about his future. After completing his education, he will have a job right out of school and will have no student loan debt which will help him build his finances.
