CHRISTINE SELWYN

Christine Marie (Medicine Horn) Selwyn, 79, of Lake Andes died Sunday, June 14, 2024 at the Sanford Health Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services were Thursday, July 18 at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Burial was in the St. Phillips Episcopal Cemetery. Peters Funeral Home of Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Christine was a strong Pipe Carrier. She believed in traditional ways and loved walking the Red Road. She was famous for her frybread.

She had a good heart and opened her home for those in need.

She also loved staying up late playing dice with her Hunka Sister Theresa Hart.

Surviving her are Diane Houseman, Lawrence Kiyuken, Roy Ziegler, Wilma Wilson, Amy Lapointe; children: Kim Medicine Horn, Brook Medicine Horn, Paula Medicine Horn, Levi Medicine Horn, Lori Arcoren, Shelbourne Selwyn, Sheldon Selwyn, Sunnona Selwyn, Sloane Selwyn and Christina Costello. She has many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Christine is preceded in death by William “Bill” Ziegler, Francis Ziegler, Dianne Ziegler, Alden Medicine Horn, Louis Medicine Horn, Eunice Medicine Horn; children: Renee Medicine Horn, Chad James Medicine Horn and Saxon Selwyn.
