ELSIE BROMERT
Visitation for Elsie Bromert will be held Friday, November 3 from 5 - 7 p.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Wagner followed by a Scripture Wake Service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 4 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church.Peters Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.
Elsie Rose (Koupal) Bromert passed away Friday, October 27, 2023 at the age of 105 at the Lake Andes Senior Living Center.
Elsie was born August 8, 1918, at a farm near Dante, to Frank and Katherine (Pesek) Koupal. She married Harold “Buster” Bromert March 6, 1941. After living in Shreveport, LA for three years, where Harold served in the US Army Air Corps, they returned to South Dakota where they farmed near Ravinia.
Elsie was employed at the Wagner Good Samaritan Home as a Medical Aide from August 1968, until her retirement in December 2001. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Wagner, St. John’s Altar Society, a Catechism teacher, a 4-H leader and active in the Ravinia PTA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Roger Joseph; son-in-law, Tom L. Holland; siblings and their spouses: Emil Koupal (Agnes), Emma Kelly (Francis), Lilian Hron (Joseph), William Koupal (Josephine), Lorna Spielmann (Delbert), and Florence White (Donald), three infant brothers; in-laws, Herman and Anna Bromert; dear friend, Jane Doyle Bromert; life-long friend, Elsie Chytka and special friend, Melvin Uecker.
Elsie is survived by daughter, Janet Holland of Tulsa, OK; granddaughters: Jennifer Holland Litke (Steve) of Ft. Worth, TX and Kara Holland Hennessee (Sean) of Tulsa, OK; great-grandchildren: Hayden Litke, Karoline Litke, Andrew Hennessee, and William Hennessee; and daughter- in-law, Linda Koebelen of Norman, OK.
