The following qualified for the state track and field meet to be held in Spearfish on May 28 and 29:
Read moreWe all know the feeling. You ate too much, and now your stomach is letting you know about it. Or maybe you ate some junk food, and now you don’t feel well. How is it that another slice of pizza one moment seems like exactly what we want, but later we realize it was not what we needed?
Read moreIt was 5:20 A.M. the morning of April 21st, and Ed and Michelle, good friends of Mark and LuAnn, were going to pick me up. They had offered a year ago to take me marlin fishing, and it was finally going to happen. We would go out for the day with their personal friend and master angler, Captain Nicolas Villa. He was ably assisted on his 30’ twin engine boat, the “Mahi Mahi,” by first mates Nicholas, his son, and an equally talented Jose.

Read moreBetsy and I just returned from a ten-day visit to our youngest daughter’s home in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico (aka Los Cabos). Cabo is on the very tip of the thousand-milelong Baha Peninsula beneath California. The Sierra de la Laguna Mountains separate the Sea of Cortez from the Pacific Ocean, and other than what has been developed, the very dry terrain is desolate brush and cactus. The temperatures ranged from the low 80’s during the day to 70’s at night. The wind, except on the water, was negligible.
