The Derecho storm that swept through Avon in May, left damage and ruble in it's wake. In town, the Avon football/track buildings took a big hit. Since the storm, Terry and Nathan Schultz have been hard at work to get the buildings back in working order before the football season begins.

The Avon Swim Team wrapped up their season at the Championship Swim Meet held in Platte on July 14th and 15th. Avon had 51 swimmers participate in the two day meet. For the second year in a row, the team scored the most points overall, awarding them Team Champions.

Anything from painting, quilting, baking, canning, collections, photography, gardening and so much more! All exhibits should be entered on Friday, August 5th, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the 4-H Center and must go by guidelines in the South Dakota State Fair Book.
