Read moreAmerican Legion Greer Post #11 held its monthly meeting on June 20th. Commander Rados thanked the cooks for another delicious meal. Commander Rados called on Americanism Officer Don Kotab to introduce the guests in attendance. Daniel Soukup, son of Gene and Laura Soukup, is one recipient of Greer Post #11's scholarships this year. Daniel expressed his thanks for the scholarship and reminded us he also attended Boy's State last year. Carter Smejkal, son of Shawn and Donna Smejkal and Frank Soukup, son of Lynn and Kim Soukup were the Post 11's 2024 Boy's State attendees. Both young men talked briefly about their last minute doubts of how they were going to appreciate Boy's State. However, after arriving they soon began find their place and really began to enjoy themselves. Both stated they made lifelong friends and would encourage anyone their age to definitely attend.

His father, Roger Schroeder, was on the Wagner Fire Department for 27 years. When Roger decided to retire from the fire department, Austin decided that he would fill his dad’s spot.
Read moreJuly 3, 2024, marked the first meeting of the Wagner Rotary Club for their 2024-2025 year. President Becky Brunsing gave the oath of office to Jordan Weber. Weber in turn presented Brunsing with a plaque which has a gavel on it with the name and years of the outgoing president. President Weber then took his place at the officers table and rang the bell for our official first meeting. There were no guests present as the first meeting is usually a business meeting only. Weber gave a prayer of thanks and blessing for the group.
Read moreChase and McKenzie Snyder competed at the National Qualifying Track Meet. Chase won the discus event in the boys 12-yearold division with a throw of 90 feet, 11 inches. McKenzie won the shot-put event in the girls eight and under division with a throw of 20 feet 6.5 inches.
