Read moreBon Homme High School, Class of 1985, celebrated their belated 35th reunion from Summer 2020, over Czech Days in Tabor, on June 18, 2021. Out of a class of 64 classmates, 13 made the effort. The classmates met in Sokol Park and enjoyed an afternoon and evening together. Several classmates called in and sent texts while the reunion was going on. The next class reunion will be their 40th during Czech Days in June 2025. Read moreJuneteeth, celebrated on June 19th is now a National Holiday in the United States. Would you like to learn more about this holiday? The library is a great place to begin. The library has a collection of biographies of people who played a critical role in the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth was first celebrated in Texas, where on that date in 1865, in the aftermath of the Civil Was, enslaved people were declared free under the terms of the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation. The local library also has access to materials from the South Dakota State Library, or books can be downloaded to your electronic device for reading from Overdrive. Read moreThe Heat Index was pushing towards one hundred when the Wagner Rotary Club met on Wednesday, June 18th. Pastor/Rotarian/ Musician Laurie Kidd started the meeting with a prayer of thanks for the rain we had a week ago and asked that everyone practice safe measures in this extreme heat. Laurie then moved to the piano, and we sang two verses of “Home on the Range” and a rousing rendition of “Roll Rotary.” We sound so much better when she plays the piano and leads the singing.
