The 2021 Bon Homme County 4-H Achievement Days ended with the Senior and Junior Round Robin Showmanship Contest. Contestants that competed were Seniors Brock Kotalik, Riley Hellmann, Hayden Talsma, Landon Thury and Lincoln Thury. Juniors were Emma Balvin, Carmindy Ferwerda, Peyton Hellmann, Rilyn Thury and Tarynn Torsney. In the Senior Division Riley Hellmann received the Grand Champion award and Lincoln Thury received Reserve Champion. In the Junior Division Peyton Hellmann received the Grand Champion award and Tarynn Torsney was awarded Reserve Champion.

Read moreThe Avon Public Library ended their Summer Reading Program, Tails and Tales, with an interactive movie night on Monday, August 2. Participants met in the park and were given props and scripts to interact with the movie, Finding Nemo. About 65 children and adults were in attendance. Snacks and drinks were also given out. There was a lot of feedback on this being an enjoyable time, and Mayor Petrik inquired about doing this again with another movie in the winter possibly in the fire hall.
