It is finally here. The Library is moving from the 500 Main Street location to the new location at 17 Park Ave, which is across the street to the south from the Andes Central School playground. The library will now be known as the Lake Andes Public Library, as we are moving out of the Carnegie building. The building at 500 Main Street will now be renovated and used as a City of Lake Andes Museum.

Read moreCalvin Wright Jr. is a 2022 graduate of Wagner Community School (WCS). He is currently in his sophomore year studying criminal justice at Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU) where he plays college football. Calvin plays offensive line, left tackle and right tackle. Calvin chose DWU, because during his visit to the campus while still in high school, he loved the environment and the feeling that the campus gave him. The football coaching staff made a huge difference in making this the college for Calvin. The coaches made him feel that they really wanted him to be a part of their program, making it easy for Calvin to commit to DWU.
Read moreThe annual Boys and Girls Club of Wagner Day for Kids was held on September 29th from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. This is an annual event going back over 20 years. The event includes the fundraiser, The Duck Pluck. Ducks are sold singly or in flocks of ten by the wonderful Boys and Girls Club staff. They have 800 ducks to sell. 100% of the money raised goes back to the kids enrolled at the Boys and Girls Club in Wagner whether it be for programs, supplies, new equipment, etc. This year, Jerry and Kathy Henke, donated a 1972 Chrysler Boat as the grand prize. There were 50 other individuals and businesses that donated prizes to make this such a successful event for the organization. Altogether there were 81 prizes available which included bikes, chamber bucks, gift certificates, etc. The kids enjoyed an afternoon of fun games that included an obstacle course, donut races, bowling, rock/paper/scissor contests, giant board games and game room tournaments.
