DESPITE SOME FRIGID CONDITIONS, TRACKSTERS COMPETE AT AVON INVITE

Completing tasks outdoors the past couple of weeks has not been easy or pleasant for anyone, and the track and field athletes serve as no exception. But they put on their best faces as they traveled to Avon to compete in some cold, windy, and drizzly conditions this past Friday, April 16. Both the girls and boys did well with the girls finishing in second place and the boys in third in the overall team standings.

PETERS VAULTING HIS WAY TO THE TOP

Jaden Peters traveled to Mitchell this past Saturday, April 17, to compete in the Corn Palace Relays where he continued his ascent up the pole-vaulting leader board in South Dakota High School history. Jaden once again improved his mark as he vaulted 15’2”, which puts him in a tie for 8th place in South Dakota state vaulting history. It is going to be an interesting and exciting last month of Jaden’s high school career to see if he can surpass 16’1” and become the best high school vaulter ever witnessed in the state of South Dakota! WOODS' DONATION RECEIVED BY WAGNER CEMETERY ASSOCIATION

Norman Woods and some of his children (Terri Rezac, Cheryl Smith, Julie Dennis, Frank Woods, Steve Woods, and Dana Woods) recently met with members of the Wagner Cemetery Association to make a monetary donation in the amount of $3600 for improvements to the Wagner Cemetery. With the news of the recent reorganization of the Wagner Cemetery Board, the Woods family felt moved to make this donation in honor of Norman. In turn Norman Woods has chosen to make this donation in memory of his ancestors and relatives. These include: Thomas & Mary (Sadler) Hawkey and descendants (Norman’s Great Grandparents), Newton & Nora (Hawkey Dunsmore and descendants (Norman’s Grandparents), and Orville & M. Edna (Dunsmore) Woods (Norman’s Parents).
