The Wagner Rotary club held a weekly meeting on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. President Rachel Woods called the meeting to order with a rap on the Rotary Bell. Pastor Bill Herman offered a prayer of blessing upon the meal and for our blessings abound.

Letter to the editor

Recently Senate Resolution 701 in Support of Reconstruction of Wagner 4 lanes was introduced By Senator Shawn Bordeaux. This resolution clearly states the facts and concerns of the stakeholders who utilize the current Highway 46 four lane through Wagner. We encourage supporters of the four lane to make two calls to the Senate Floor at 605 773 3821 from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday noon and early next week. On the first call leave a message thanking Senator Shawn Bordeaux for sponsoring SR 701 and a message for Senator Erin Tobin to testify for SR 701. For the second call leave a message for Senator Casey Crabtree and Senator Reynold Nesiba to tell them to support Senate Resolution 701. They are the Senate Majority and Minority Leaders.

Monthly Blood Donation Fact: January is National Blood Donor Month! The month of January is usually a period of critical blood shortages. People stop donating blood during the holidays and when they get sick during cold and flu season. Blood drives also get snowed out during the winter months. We thank all the donors for coming out to save lives by donating!

If you have a high school senior in your household you are probably wondering what is next for them and for you. Is your student off to a post-high educational training program, such as a technical or a four year college? Maybe they are off to the military, getting a job or maybe staying home with you for another year or longer. If this answer has not already been made and decided, you have probably already started to wonder when the decision will be made. You probably are aware that opportunities are slowly running out.
