What do we do when one day we can smile, laugh, and look back at memories with fondness and thankfulness for the life we shared with our loved one; the next day we feel paralyzed by our pain and sadness? We feel broken and feel as though we may never be our “old self” again? We may not like the answer…we feel what we feel. There is no twelve steps, timeline or prescription for our grief. New research supports that as unique as we are as humans, as unique as our relationships are, as unique as our brains, is as unique as how we will process our grief.

Read moreThe Southeast Elite 12U softball team prevailed in both games against the Vermillion Flamez (White) Friday night in Avon. In the first game, the Elite jumped on top in the first inning when Leah DeWald started a 2 out rally with a single to left. Raegan Brandt reach on an error by the first baseman. Ashley Soukup followed with a double scoring one run. In the next inning, the Elite scored 5 runs on a combination of walks and errors bytheFlamez.Vermillion managed to score 3 runs in the 3rd and 4th innings. Emersyn Haenfler was on the mound for the Elite. She struck out five while only walking one. The final score was 6-3 in favor of the Elite In the second game the Elite started quickly by scoring 5 runs in the first. Emersyn Haenfler and Rowan Brandt bothwalkedandthenadvanced on a wild pitch. Emersyn then scored on a fielder’s choice by Leah DeWald. Ashley Soukup then drove in a pair with a single. Kensely DeVries followed with a walk and Whitley Wolf singled. Johanna Namminga and Kodi Maggs both walked forcing in the last two runs. In the second, Emersyn Haenfler walked and Rowan Brandt reached on an error. Leah DeWald followed with a hit scoring Emersyn. Reagan Brandt then doubled scoring two. Ashley Soukup was hit by a pitch and Kensley DeVries singled in the final run. In the next inning Whitley Wolf and JohannaNammingawereboth hit by a pitch and Kodi Maggs, StellaRatzlaff,SidneyJohnson all walked forcing in the final runs. Harper Kracht started on the Hill and was relieved by Kensley DeVries. The pair struck out 4 and walked 6 in 3 innings of work. Kodi Maggs and Kensley DeVries cut down the final out of the game at the plate on some great hustle on a passed ball. The final score ended up 12-4 in favor of the Elite. The Elite play next in the Stars and Stripes Tournament inVermilliononSaturdayMay 24th.
