Read moreOn Wednesday, June 26, the Post 7319 teeners traveled to Salem to take on the Cubs. As usual, the evening would start with the 14U game. Salem had one more hit than Wagner, but they would end up with 14 more runs as they would win by a score of 14-0 as they used 11 walks and 10 errors to come away with the victory. Ethan Gabel was the pitcher of record. He gave a valiant effort but would give up six runs, only one being earned, on zero hits and four walks. Avery Medicine Bear, Colton Zephier, and Landon Ronfeldt all pitched in this contest. It stands to reason that in a game where your defense commits ten errors that many runs will be unearned and that was the case here, as all of the runs given up by those three pitchers were unearned. Beau Otte and Steven Peters collected two hits each and that was all the offense Wagner could muster.

Hayden Christopherson of Vermillion proved to be too much for Wagner’s bats as he would pitch the complete game shutout, winning by a score of 7-0. Hunter Loeffler, Matt Link, and Carter Cournoyer each had one hit for Wagner.
Read moreOn June 22, (in spite of all the rain and flooded roads) the Ravinia all school reunion held it's fourth consecutive reunion at the Ravinia Fire Hall. A couple of firemen and a few committee members started setting up Saturday morning as social hour started at 3:00 in the afternoon.
Read moreShona Kocer, daughter of Francis and Karla Kocer attended the Boys and Girls Club of America Midwest Regional Youth of the Year in Chicago, IL on June 27th. The event was held at the theater on the lake on Lake Michigan. The midwest regional consists of 12 other states competing to send their student to the national competition. The winner at the midwest regional level won a $20,000 scholarship and will move on to the national contest that will be held in September. The national winner will receive a brand-new Toyota Corolla and a $50,000 scholarship.
