During the 2020 South Dakota Legislative Session, the legislature created a provision to allow for nonresident landowners to be eligible for west river deer and firearm antelope licenses for their own land. In response to this action, the Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) Commission finalized fees for these licenses at their July meeting.

ANDES CENTRAL/DAKOTA CHRISTIAN CROSS COUNTY

The Andes Central/Dakota Christian Cross Country team is looking for a hopeful season. Head coach Larry Lucas is hopeful that the season will be as normal as possible considering the impacts the COVID-19 virus is having on schools and sports teams. Lucas is hopeful his runners stay healthy and injury free. And, Coach Lucas is hopeful to have a competitive girls’ varsity team. Leading the way will be 10th grader Isabelle Brower, who has ran in three state meets, 11th grader Sonya Hansum, and 8th grader Kalee Dykshorn. “We are also looking to have some younger runners at the 7th grade level to mature and help build a solid team by the end of the season.”

Lanae Flying Hawk, 50, of Wagner died Thursday, July 23, 2020 at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services were Wednesday, July 29 at the American Legion Hall in Wagner. Burial was in the Holy Fellowship Episcopal Cemetery, rural Greenwood. Wake services were Monday at the Legion Hall. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Wake services were Wednesday at the Community Center in Lake Andes. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.
