Due to current health concerns, private funeral services for Clifton Berndt, 91, of Avon were held Monday, November 9 at the Danzig Baptist Church, rural Avon. Burial was in the church cemetery. Peters Funeral Chapel in Avon was in charge of arrangements.

LOCAL ORAL INTERP STUDENTS ADVANCE TO REGION CONTEST

Wagner Oral Interp held their annual local oral interp meet on Monday, November 2nd. It was wonderful to have these students finally experience a real audience. The anticipation of this meet was great and a very welcome one at that. The students all performed very well. They took the gift of having an audience and really allowed that to drive their performances to be the best they could be.

Some years ago, I can’t exactly remember when, it was suggested by some “foreign” radical thinkers that the Great Plains be fenced off from the rest of the country and turned into a buffalo preserve. They had western North and South Dakota in mind, as well as parts of Montana and Wyoming. As bizarre as this thinking was, there are still people who harbor such thoughts.
