This week’s high school “Pirate of the Week” is Sophi Paulsen. She is a 15-year-oldsophomorewith a life full of fun and laughter. SomeofSophi’sfavorite things to do are to draw, playvideogames,andhang out with her cat. Allison’s biggest role model is her mother, she has taught her everything she knows, and has helped her become the person she is today. She's always looked up to her mom and hopes to one day become a mother as amazing as she is. Some advice Allison has for underclassmen is to stay on top of your work and don’t fall behind,butalsohavefunwith the time you have here. The accomplishment that Allison is most proud of at her time at AHS was being selected for NationalHonorSociety.After high school, Allison plans to attendNortheastCommunity College to major in Business and eventually become a banker. Her favorite memory from her time at AHS is playing the online game of Tag with Terran and Carmindy every day during 3rd hour of Junior year. What Allison will miss most about her time at AHS is spending time with the people that she's spent the last thirteen years growing up with.
Read moreAndes Central students participated in the Voice of Democracy by writing an essay on a patriotic theme and expressing what democracy means to them. The local VFW District 7 Post completed their judging of the essays. Commander Merritt Stegmeier, representing the VFW, awarded Madeline Derry with 1st place and Madilyn Janis with second place. Their essays will go on to the state level for judging. Congrats Madeline and Madilyn!

This law guarantees that children with disabilities have access to free and appropriate public education. IDEA requires states to provide the same access to all students regardless of their disabilities; promotes individualized education plans (IEPs); and encourages the inclusion of students with disabilities in general classrooms.
