MADISON SWENSON

Kenny and Amber (Wiebenga) Swenson along with big brother Owen welcomed into the world at 7:37 a.m. on September 16 a new baby girl. Madison Lynne Swenson measured 19.75 inches long and weighed six pounds eight ounces. Proud grandparents are Sharon Soukup Wiebenga of Tyndall and Terry Wiebenga of Yankton and Phil and Lynelle Swenson of Ocheyedan IA. Great grandparents are Marla Soukup of Wagner and Bud and Elaine Wiebenga of Springfield.

Am. Leg. Auxiliary to Greer Post #11

Greer Unit# 11, American Legion Auxiliary met at 8:00 on September 17 at the post home with eight members present. The meeting was called to order by President Juanita Stone. Chaplain Marge Stone opened with prayer, followed by all reciting the Pledge of allegiance and Auxiliary Preamble. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The treasurers report was given and approved by a motion from Sandi Seiner, motion carried. Bills were presented and a motion to pay bills was made by Jeanette Fuchs, motion carried. Correspondence was read from District President Janice Coleman in regard to the upcoming district meeting on September 27, in Wakonda. Barb Kucera, membership Chairman reported that we have 23 paid members. Our goal is 78 for this year. Dues notices are in the mail. Please send dues to Chairman Barb Kucera. Community service Chairman Marge Stone reported appropriate cards were sent: Sympathy five, Thinking of you six.

This Week in ROTARY NEWS

The Wagner Rotary Club was called to order on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 by President Bryan Slaba. He called upon Pastor Laurie Kidd to give a prayer. Laurie asked the membership to pray for our Rotarian Jerry Weber and for the Merle Denker family. Thanks was given for the beautiful day, the nourishing food, and for continued guidance in serving our Wagner Community. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by the Rotary members in place of singing.

BARTUNEK BROTHERS HEADING TO TEXAS FOR JUNIOR NFR

2020 High Plains Circuit Bareback Champs! Grady, ten years old, competed in the 9-12 Junior Rookie Bareback and Hayes, seven years old, competed in the 6-9 year old barebacks. The boys were coached by their Uncle Andy Hall who rode bareback horses. Both boys had great rides at the High Plains Circuit in Ft. Pierre September 19 and are heading to Texas in December to the Junior NFR! Shout out to all of the boys awesome sponsors!
