MARILYN CARPENTER
Marilyn Carpenter, age 86 of Sioux Falls, passed away on Saturday, December 5th peacefully in her sleep at Sanford Hospital Sioux Falls. A private family memorial service was held with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sioux Falls.
Marilyn Rembold was born on March 1, 1934 in Scotland, to Gottlieb and Millie (Sattler) Rembold. She attended Scotland High School graduating in 1952 and she then attended the University of South Dakota and University of Sioux Falls.
She was married to Norman Carpenter on August 22, 1954 in Scotland, where they lived on a farm for five years North of Wagner, later moving to Sioux Falls in 1959. Marilyn was an elementary school teacher where she spent her time teaching in Delmont, Wagner and finished her last 14 years teaching 6th grade at Hayward Elementary in Sioux Falls.
Marilyn was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Dave) Andersh of Sioux Falls, granddaughters April Konz of LeMars , IA and Angie (Jason) Arp of Crooks: great-grandchildren Macey Boese and Bentley Konz; sister-in law Shirley (Bob) Broz of Wagner; niece Cheryl (Mike) Deibert of Bridgewater; nephew Doug Broz of Richland, WA and five great-nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; parents, Gottlieb and Millie and in-laws, Howard and Verna Carpenter.
