Kenneth “Kenny” Jon Harrington was born on January 26, 1960 in Armour to Gene and Sharon (Peters) Harrington. At the time of his birth the family lived in Wagner, and when he was six years old they moved to South Bend, IN. Kenny attended school there until the age of 15. The family then moved to Delmont, where they owned the Delmont Inn (bar, restaurant and bowling alley). While attending school in Delmont, Kenny loved playing football. Later in life he received his GED which he was very proud of.
Kenny married Rose Wright on March 8, 1986, and always said Rose was the best thing that ever happened to him. The couple was blessed with two children, Maverick and Mataya.
Kenny worked at the Delmont Inn, cooking, bartending and helping with maintenance on the bowling machines. Later on in life he worked various construction jobs. His favorite job duty was running the pay loader, until an accident forced him to no longer work.
He adored his family, especially his grandchildren. They loved the pool parties and water balloon fights in the summers.
Kenny loved his dogs, hunting, fishing, drag racing and putting together puzzles. He was a great cook. Everyone especially loved his pickles and Kenny Cakes.
He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Armour.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Rose; children, Maverick (Kaydee) of Mitchell and Mataya (Tanner) of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Ava, Aspen, Zoey and Kennett; siblings, Kevin (Kristie), Kerry (Sally), Kate (Larry) and Kim; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Sharon Harrington; two angel grand babies; in-laws, Ernest and Leona Wright; sister-in-law, Carolyn; and brothers-in-law, Mark, Gary and Allen.
