MATTHEW JEPSEN
Matthew Jepsen, 25, of Anthon, IA died Tuesday, September 8, 2020 in Iowa. Funeral services were Saturday, September 12 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Marty. Burial was in the church cemetery. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.
Matthew Was born November 18, 1994 to Valerie Rose Picotte of Wagner. Matthew’s biological siblings include: Isiah, Raymond, Maurianna, Little Isiah (Efrain) and Gabriella. He was later adopted to Rick and Tammey Jepsen of Danbury, IA with siblings including: Michael, Samuel and Ronni. Matthew was currently residing in Anthon, IA with his girlfriend Ashley Clausen and two cats.
Matthew went to Maple Valley High and excelled very well there. He loved reading and was involved in sports. He ran cross country, baseball, football and also wrestled. His intelligence led him to being in DI (Destination Imagination) and TAG Talented and Gifted).
Matthew went to Denison Job Corps after high school where he learned the trade of carpentry. After graduating hew went to work for a carpenters union in Des Moines where he worked on the Jack Trice stadium. Matthew also worked at VT for five years learning many jobs. He most recently worked at Seaboard Triumph Foods.
Matthew will be remembered as a light that touched everyone. He was always caring and could make anyone laugh regardless of the situation. Matthew was always giving and helpful to anyone that asked or needed anything.
Left to mourn Matthew are his siblings: Isiah Owens and his daughter Ahnyiah of Sioux City, Raymond Jepsen of Sioux City, Maurianna Jepsen of Logan, Gabriella Majeres of Sioux City and little Isiah Kleve of Sergeant Bluff, Michael/Jessie and daughter Lily Jepsen of Anthon, Samuel Jepsen of Cherokee and Ronni Jepsen of Veblen; his adopted mother Tammey Jo Jepsen of Lismore, MN; grandparents Jake and Theresa Wieneke of Lismore, MN; Tiffany and Jose Segura, Scott Picotte, Nikita Picotte, Karen Tuttle, Priscilla Lee, Stanton Archambeau and Helen Archambeau.
Matthew was preceded in death by his mother Valerie Rose Picotte, grandparents Raymond and Debra Picotte; great grandparents Tom and Delores Picotte; aunt Sue Picotte; uncles Gerald Picotte and Arnold Archambeau; and adopted father Rick Jepsen.
