RICHARD ISHMAEL

Richard Arron Ishmael, 78, of Altamont died Friday, August 21, 2020 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.

A graveside service was held August 26 at Union Cemetery, Altamont with Rev. Dr. James F. Wright officiating. Memorials may be made to Western Rooters 4-H Club. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont assisted the family with arrangements.

Richard was born on October 13, 1941 in Shattuck, OK to Ralph and Viola (Baggs) Ishmael. Richard spent most of his childhood on the family farm near Wagner. He graduated from Ravinia High School. He worked for Haar Implement as a mechanic. He married JoAnne Carol Rados on June 29, 1967. They ranched and farmed in the Aladdin and Colony, Wyoming areas until June 1985 when they moved to Gallup, NM where Richard worked at Gallup Truck Service as a mechanic until he started Richard’s Tire Service. In 2012, he retired and they moved to Altamont, IL. He was exceptional at fixing things. He loved hunting and fishing.

Richard is survived by: his wife of over 53 years, JoAnne Carol Ishmael of Altamont; two children; Lori (Mark) Camp of Altamont and Neil (Monica) Ishmael of Ignacio, CO; eight brothers, Walter (Donna) Ishmael, Wagner, Marion (Linda) Ishmael, Sioux Falls, Vernon (Connie) Ishmael, Springfield, Joe (Cindy) Ishmael, Clearfield, Jerry (Josie) Ishmael, Geddes, David (Judy) Ishmael, Wagner, Timothy Ishmael, Gallup, NM, Chad Ishmael, Winner; four sisters, Margaret (Clyde) Mach, Wagner, Barbara (Bob) Kucera, Wagner, Connie (Calvin) Larive, Hot Springs, Karen Ishmael, Hot Springs; nine grandchildren, Anthony (Danielle) Camp, Keifer (Kaci) Camp, Clayton Camp, Grace (fiancé Garrett Bartels) Camp, Ali Ghori, Ahmed Ghori, Sana Ghori, Britney (Luis) Eseberre, Jareth Ishmael; and four great grandchildren; Mila Camp, Blakeleigh Camp, Aspen Bartels, Ryleigh Camp.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Sandra Lynn Ghori.
