Funeral services for Jerrica Zephier, 29, of Marty, were held Wednesday, December 4 at the National Guard Armory in Wagner. Burial was in St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Marty. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Jerrica Rose was born May 22, 1995 in Yankton, to Brenda Zephier and Rodney Patterson. She died Thursday, November 28, 2024, the result of an automobile accident.

Jerrica was raised in Marty by her mother Brenda and stepfather James Clairmont. She attended and graduated from Marty Indian School in 2013.

Jerrica was always willing to help anyone in need. She was a very loving mother to her (mini me) Kaliyah Keilani Zephier a.k.a. “The Berries”. She enjoyed family time, baking, cooking, family meals, beading, drawing, attending sweats and church, shopping, manicures, pedicures, cruising, and listening to her music. Jerrica also loved watching Yellowstone with her mother. She was a hard worker employed as a file clerk for the Yankton Sioux Tribe.

Jerrica leaves to mourn her pride and joy “ The Berries” Kaliyah Keilani Zephier; her mother Brenda Zephier; stepfather James Clairmont; sister Stephanie Cournoyer (Laryn, D’Andre, Alex, Nadia, Naomi, and Nathaniel) of Marty, brother Greg Cournoyer, Jr (Xavier’s and Chernessa) of Dante, sister Adrienne Clairmont (Owen, Kiana, Ayden, Yamni, Adrianna) of Wagner, sister Tasheena Zephier (Tameeri, Evan Jr) of Marty, and sister Kenya Oyate Ob Omani Win of Marty; and best friend/companion Echo Rouse of Wagner.

She was preceded in death by her grandpa Alexander Zephier, uncle Todd Zephier and grandma Phyliss Powers.
