SHAWN QUIGLEY

Shawn Patrick Quigley, 48, formerly of Metairie, Louisiana died Saturday, May 18, 2024 after a battle with cancer in his home in Tyndall. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 22 at the Friedensberg Bible Church in Avon. Burial was in the Friedensberg Cemetery, rural Avon. Peters Funeral Chapel of Avon was in charge of arrangements.

Shawn Patrick Quigley was born February 24, 1976 in Rapid City, to Donna Boese and Kevin Quigley. He grew up in Hanahan, South Carolina and graduated from Hanahan High School in 1994. Shawn’s ambition was to join the military.

Shawn was in the US Air Force for four years. He worked in the Special Forces as an Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) Tech. He was very good at his job.

Shawn married Susan Ferry in New Orleans, LA February 26, 2005. After several years working for an environmental company running heavy machinery, he decided to be closer to home with his family. He then worked for a car dealership.

Shawn was a kind man. He was a very calm, cool and collected person. Shawn could fix anything and loved cars. He loved to fish and was a very good fisherman. He specifically liked fishing for bass.

Thankful for having shared his life are his daughters: Arden and Adelaide “Addie”; parents Donna Boese of Tyndall and Kevin Quigley of Savanna, GA; sister Kelley and husband Scott Quigley Friedland of Wilmington, NC; nephews: Jared and Benny Friedland; aunts: Margie Thoma and Maureen Quigley; uncles: Mark (Angelina) and Randy (Kelly) Boese; and many cousins.

Shawn was preceded in death by his wife Susan in September of 2019; grandparents: Merlin and Hazel Boese and Charles and Myrtle Quigley; uncle Charlie Quigley; and aunt Lynn Franks.
