Funeral services for Alden Stricker, 62, of Wagner were held Saturday, December 29 at the Ihanktonwan Oyate Community Center in Marty. Burial was in the Cedar Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Wagner. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Alden Wayne Stricker was born to Adelia Stricker on June 29, 1956 at Wagner. He died Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society in Wagner.

He was raised by his grandmother Louise Stricker and his mother. He primarily lived in Wagner but also Lower Brule.

Throughout Alden’s life he worked mainly as a farm laborer. Alden loved the outdoors and traveled to many places by foot. He also had a love for horses. His hobbies included riding horses, walking and visiting his friends and family members.

Alden didn’t have children of his own but helped raise many nieces and nephews. He considered his nieces Melissa Sanchez and Marcy (Sanchez) Joseph to be his children.

He is survived by his brothers Richard Leasure of Wagner, Ronald Leasure of Crystal, MN and sisters Sandra Knudsen and Gail Estes, both of Wagner.

Alden will always be remembered for his very outgoing personality, his love for adventure, the outdoors and horseback riding.
