TERRY MACH
Memorial Service for Terry Lynn Mach, 62, of Aberdeen was held Thursday, November 4 at First United Methodist Church. Private burial will take place prior to the service in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Terry died October 29, 2021, after suffering a six-year battle with Lewy body dementia/Parkinson’s disease.
Terry was born on September 11, 1959, to Anthony “Tony” and Marcene (Holsing) Bruckner, in Aberdeen and raised on a farm in Conde. She graduated from Conde High School where she was a cheerleader and earned a degree in cosmetology from Stewart School in Aberdeen.
She was united in marriage to Anthony Mach on July 11, 1981, in United Methodist Church in Conde. They shared 40 years together, and had two children, Josh, 38 and Andrew, 33.
For 31 years, Terry owned The Cutting Edge salon in downtown Aberdeen where she devoted her career as a hairstylist to her many loyal clients in need of a fresh cut. After hours, she turned countless kitchens and dining rooms into private salons, offering free haircuts to any family member who would ask.
Terry was actively involved in the First United Methodist Church, where she trained as a Stephen Minister to provide one-on-one care to people in times of need. She was a decades-long member of the Aberdeen Central Athletic Booster Club and a perpetual supporter of the Golden Eagles.
Terry loved shopping, pampering her pet cats and dogs with fresh-out-of-the-dryer laundry, and above all, her grandchildren, Monroe and Lennyn. She was seldom seen without perfectly painted red nails and her bright, loving smile.
Terry is survived by her husband, Anthony; sons, Josh (Stephanie) and their daughters, Monroe and Lennyn of Aberdeen and Andrew of Brooklyn, New York; mother, Marcene Bruckner of Conde; and siblings, Trudy Taylor of Aberdeen, Leslie "Bud" Bruckner of Conde, and Ken Bruckner of Menno.
She is preceded in death by her father, Anthony Bruckner.
