SCOTT PODHRADSKY

Scott Jay Podhradsky was born June 22, 1961 in Mitchell to Louie and Doris Podhradsky. He joined older siblings Bob and Debbie. He died Monday, November 23, 2020 at his home in Wagner at the age of 59.

Scott shared 44 years of his life with Anne-Marie Podhradsky. They were blessed with four daughters: Nakita (Adam) Maddox of Yankton, Tatianna Podhradsky of Colorado, Sasha Podhradsky of Yankton and Tavia Podhradsky of Wagner. Scott graduated from Augustana College in 1989 and went on to the USD Law School in Vermillion where he obtained his J.D. in 1992.

He moved his family to Wagner in 1993, when he was hired by Wipf and Cotton Law Firm. He did general legal work and criminal defense. Scott served terms as State's Attorney from 1998-2008 and again from 2015- 2016. He served terms as Deputy State's Attorney from 2013 -2015 and 2017 -2019.

Scott was well known, liked and respected in his legal profession. Many have said that he had a brilliant mind and was a talented trial attorney.

During Scott's 27 years in Wagner, he also served on numerous organizations and committees. Labor Day Committee, Centennial Committee, Abate and Lion's Club were some of his favorites.

Scott had a unique style and sense of humor. He was a man who wore many hats!

The family is sure many have an amusing "Pod story" they can tell.

He will be dearly missed by his family, his friends, colleagues and loyal dog Sophie.

According to Scott's wishes, he will be cremated. Due to COVID concerns, services are not being held at this time.
