Due to current health concerns, private funeral services for Hattie Krsnak, 100, of Wagner were held Wednesday, May 27 at the Peters Funeral Home in Wagner. Burial was in the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner.

Hattie Krsnak was born August 26, 1919 at Scotland, the daughter of Frank and Tillie (Sedlacek) Podzimek. She died Thursday, May 21, 2020 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner.

Hattie married Mike Krsnak on September 24, 1940 in Nebraska. Together they farmed all their life east of Wagner until they retired and moved into Wagner in 1981. Mike died July 23, 2008. Hattie entered the Good Samaritan Center on September 9, 2013.

Hattie's greatest love was cooking and baking traditional Czech foods for her family including kolaches, poppy seed cake, jaternice, homemade sauerkraut, dill soup, potato dumplings and rohliky. Hattie will also be remembered for her love of gardening, raising flowers, quilting and playing cards. She also enjoyed tending to her chickens, ducks and geese while on the farm.

Thankful for having shared her life are her four children: Dennis and wife Lee of Ft. Myers Beach, FL, Judy Dauble of Lake Oswego, OR, Jim and wife Linda of Chester; and Terry and wife Julie of South Whitlock; six grandchildren: Shelly (Joe) Pauley, Patrick (Paula Docken) Krsnak, Jeff (Alayna) Krsnak, Amy Schafer, Mike (Ileah Seuer) Krsnak, and Matt (Megan) Lindholm; eight great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Hattie was preceded in death by her husband Mike, a brother, Alvin (Lorraine) Podzimek, and a sister, Elsie Slaba.
