FLOYD ROKUSEK
Geddes - Floyd William Rokusek, 85, died at Platte Care Center in Platte on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at the age of 85. There will be a private family service at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Geddes.
Floyd William Rokusek was born June 1, 1935 at home on the family farm near Geddes to William and Rose (Dolejsi) Rokusek. He grew up on the family farm and attended Goose Lake Country School through the 8th grade. He married Patricia (Patty) Ackley on November 8, 1955 in Geddes. They farmed east of Geddes on the Rokusek Homestead raising their three children along with hogs, cattle and crops for over 45 years. During that time, Floyd operated the NFO hog buying station in Dante for a few years. After his semi-retirement and Patty's death, Floyd enjoyed playing cards at the Red Oak Bar and Lone Tree Steakhouse in Geddes. He also spent many hours playing pitch tournaments with his very special friend, Sue. Floyd will be remembered for his love of farming, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Floyd was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever a friend or neighbor needed it.
Floyd is survived by his very special friends, Sue Schulte of Geddes and Pat Kenzy of Platte, his faithful companion, Snoopy, son, Gary and wife, Tammy of Geddes, two daughters, Lori Droppers and husband, Roger of Menno and Billie Iedema and husband, Darwin of Geddes, ten grandchildren, Brandon, Jessica (Mark), April (Jay), Marchelle (Ryan), Felicia (Keifis), Samantha, Tara, Jennifer (Thomas), Casey (Shelby), and Janaya, 22 great-grandchildren, along with many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Patty) on July 3, 2001, parents, brother, Leonard in infancy, and sister, Lorriane.
