Avon’s 18U softball team kicked off its season hosting Tyndall on Wednesday, June 1. In game 1 Tyndall jumped out to an early 1-0 lead. Avon was able to tie the game in the bottom of the 5th but Tyndall sealed it with runs in the 6th. For Avon, Lydia Yost and Macy Voigt led the way with 2 hits apiece. Reece Loewe had a hit, a walk, and scored a run. Sam Brodeen added a RBI. On the mound Yost threw a complete game, giving up 4 hits, 2 earned runs, striking out 9 and walking 3.

Youth from the Charles Mix County Shooting Sports program qualified for State Shoot. They traveled to Ft. Pierre, SD on April 22-24. Charles Mix County was well represented, as there were many awards received.

The AC/DC Thunder Golf Team traveled to Lakeview Golf Course in Mitchell yesterday for the Region 4B golf tournament. Abigail Svatos claimed the title for the Thunder and will head to the State Golf Tournament in Rapid City June 6th-7th. Congratulations to the AC/DC Thunder for a great finish at Regions!
