Read moreThis past week Emma Yost competed at the HOSA International Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. HOSA-Future Health Professionals is a global student-led organization, whose mission is to promote career opportunities in the health industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. While representing South Dakota, Emma competed in the physical therapy events. Emma wasn’t only representing South Dakota in competition, but she is also representing South Dakota as a state officer. She will be the treasurer for the state HOSA council this year, as she was elected by her HOSA peers at the state leadership conference. Congratulations Emma. Thank you for your work, and determination to represent Wagner and South Dakota.

The 14U team were 4-3 victors in their game as they were led by the pitching of Brady Cournoyer. He pitched all five innings giving up the three runs, all of which were earned, on seven hits and three walks while striking out seven.
Read moreIt was Chancy Wilson who planted the seed of encouragement that The Burke Stampede Rodeo go PRO. He recognized that our rodeo had been doing everything profes-sionally except inviting the cowboys and cowgirls of the PRCA (Profes-sional Rodeo Cowboys Association) and the WPRA (Women's Profes-sional Rodeo Association) to compete on our arena floor. Chancy had been providing stock for our amateur rodeo for several years. The Burke Stampede Committee took his advice to heart and for the first time in our 32 year history, The Burke Stam-pede was sanctioned by Professional Rodeo in 2021. It was all we had hoped for and dreamed of and more. And this year Chancy and crew known as Muddy Creek ProRodeo will be back to help us continue the Legend that is THE BURKE STAMPEDE RODEO.

Parkston scored 3 in the third while Avon managed to get a run across in the sixth but it wasn’t enough as Parkston won 3-1. Sam Brodeen, Reece Loewe, Lydia Yost, and Emma Yost each singled in the game. Lydia Yost pitched for Avon, striking out 5.
