An evening potluck meal was enjoyed followed by honoring Rebecca Severson with a bridal shower. The 40th birthday of Jamie Peterson, 50th birthday of Jacque Liebl, (both in 2020) and 60th pre-birthday of Julie Rothschadl were celebrated. The teens and children enjoyed swimming. Children and Parents gathered at the library on July 12th and listened to guest reader, Loretta Knodel read “Rainbow Fish” and discuss the lessons the book teaches. Many of them had read books since the last session and were able to write them on the ocean animal die-cuts to be placed on our reading contest mural. It looks like Angelfish (ages 0-7) are currently in the lead! Participants enjoyed an underwater themed snack mix and continued the work on their Young Author Projects. Prizes were awarded to participants. This week we also put the parent names in a separate drawing. Winners of prizes were Raja Brandt, Kyzleigh Metzger, Emersyn Haenfler, Ella Grant, Lydia Lane, Easton Sees, and Autumn Schultz. Thanks again to all the businesses who have donated to our Summer Reading Program, including Ron’s Market. Our next session will be on Monday, July 19th at 12:30pm. Please use the back door of the library as there is a lot of movement of heavy machinery on the street. We do not want any mishaps. Also, please remember to sign your family members up for the interactive movie (Finding Nemo) in the park on August 2nd. There is a sign-up sheet in the library. We need to know numbers so we can purchase props for the event. This will be a fun night where the audience interacts with what is happening on the screen so all ages are welcome! More details on the movie will be coming soon!
